This year’s summer students Joined the Loop!

At OGL, we are genuinely interested in getting young people's perspectives and input on what OGL is working on. Therefore, from the first year of operation, we have engaged students to “Join the Loop” and contribute to various activities and tasks. It gives us a diversity of perspectives, expertise and energy.

Last week we had a very pleasant reunion with this season's summer interns. During the summer they have worked as "Experts in team" and carried out a project that looked at how marine biomass can be utilized for various industrial purposes, as well as looking at business models for Ocean Remediation.

- Students are a fantastic resource who really deliver, and from whom we learn a lot when it comes to the results from the project, about interaction and team spirit, and how they use different kind of tools in their work, says Head of Product Development Marin Innovation in Ocean GeoLoop, Ole Magnus Svarva who has been responsible for this year's cohort of students.

We are happy to present this year´s summer students:

  • Sofie Brenne has just finished her fourth year of study for a Master's in Industrial Chemistry and Biotechnology with a specialization in biotechnology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
  • Anna Høyem Lademo is working on a Master's Biotechnology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where she has completed the second of a total of five years.
  • Are Steen recently finished his Bachelor's in Economics and Business Administration at the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen, and will pursue a double Master's degree at Norges Handelshøyskole (NHH), including a CEMS Master's in International Management
